My Policies and Procedures:

LESSONS

-Group instrumental lessons are held once a week during the school day.

-Students will need to bring in their instrument, music folder, and signed practice sheet each week.

-Lesson times are posted in front of the classroom each morning. It is the responsibility of the student to check the sheet and report to his/her lesson on time.

PRACTICING AT HOME

-Regular practicing from the very first lesson yields great results. Students who make a solid commitment in the fall are ready to soar in January as we begin to prepare for a spring concert.

-Students are expected to practice five days a week(most of the time) for a minimum of 20 minutes at the start of the year, working up to 30 by concert season in the spring.

- Homework will be listed on a weekly practice sheet. It is the student's responsibility to follow through with getting parent signatures for time practiced at home. Written communication from parents is encouraged on the practice sheet.

ENSEMBLE

-Ensemble will be held once a week beginning in early November. (Right after Halloween!)  This time together gives students the opportunity to learn how to play within a group and get ready for the spring concert. We always have a fun time!

-Ensemble music is loaned out to students and must be returned to school after the concert.
